99 days to the Unconvention

It’s 100 99 days to go until the The UnConvention, a carefully curated event, hosted by Christian Hunt and myself, to be held in the inspiring St James Church, Clerkenwell on 12^th November 2026.

To date we have been a little cheeky; whetting appetites, enthusing a prospective audience and selling tickets on trust.

Please can I attend?

But we appreciate that many of you will need to take time away from your compelling offices, urgent deadlines and online training, and to secure sign off from a boss, a compliance officer or a mysterious accountant.

So, we can confirm that we will be exploring behaviour in Financial Services, with a focus on risk, compliance, conduct, resilience and performance. Joined by attendees from banks, professional service firms, industry bodies, regulators and academia.

We are delighted to announce that the day will kick off with Dilip Soman, leading thinker, academic and author on applied behavioural science. Other confirmed speakers include those with expertise on trading floor behaviour, the power of story telling and lessons from the Grenfell Tower disaster.

But it wont just be a day for information ingestion, it will involve active engagement.

Bring a sceptic

We are keen to get a mix of attendees and views from a wide spread of people.

Not just those who are already on the behavioural risk journey, but also those who are sceptical and those who decide resource, headcount and priority. Sometimes they are the same person.

The topic will not progress with the speed, insight and sponsorship needed unless we engage a broader church.

Further intrigued as to what may happen on the day?

When we first explored St James we noted the magnificent organ overlooking the nave and, gazing in admiration, Chekhov’s Gun sprung to mind.
